During Italy's historic years when countless tons of magnificent "Red Verona Marble" were being quarried out of the ragion of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, AUTOGRU RIGO was called upon to design and build a crane which would efficently meet the industry's lifting and trasportation demands of enormous marble blocks and stabs. It was at the time, during the early post war years, when Mr. Alberto Rigo, Founder and Owner of AUTOGRU RIGO S.p.A. designed and built his first hydraulic mobile yard crane. Rigo meet the demand, and the industry continued to prosper. Today, almost 50 years later, AUTOGRU RIGO continues to meet the industry's demands, but on a much larger scale. Every mobile crane manufactured by RIGO is designed and built to travel on road with all of its counterweight on the carrier. This design leads the crane owner and end user to a "lower cost factor". There is no need to carry the counterweight on a separate truck or trailer because it is deposited directly onto the crane carrier ready for travel (on and offsite).
